Day 44 (May 16): Durham

Sunny day this morning.  I had to walk into town for a few groceries (and to bring Chris a lunch -- he is off to London and Oxford for a few days of meetings/talks) and couldn't resist a few photos.

our building -- it's looking downright Spring-y around here

wonder how many photos I'll end up with from this spot?

Cathedral with blue skies

We managed a visit this afternoon to Durham Castle.  Students give tours through the public parts of the castle.  To date about 80 students live in the Castle itself (apparently their rooms were given an expensive overhaul just last year) and other students in University College live in other parts of the Castle & Cathedral complex.

oldest parts of the castle are 600-1000 years old

Day 38 (May 10): Durham

In-between day, just chillin' mostly.

Day 36 (May 8): Durham

Another quiet day, a bit of shopping, mostly more resting up for Zachary.

In other news, I am reading through the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series.  Nicholas Nickleby is somewhat on the back burner.

Day 35 (May 7): Durham

Quiet day here, rest and recovery for Zachary, and we've joined in.

We did venture out for a bit in the afternoon for a brief visit to the Oriental Museum.  (Which is all of about 50 feet away from our flat and not in the least bit over-whelming.  In fact, one might call it under-whelming.)

Day 17: Durham

Another quiet day -- lots of reading, working on the computer, catching up with email and business and Facebook and all that.

Chris went into his office but Caroline and I didn't actually leave the flat all day.

I started this blog.

Day 15 (April 17): Durham

Getting settled in -- some shopping, figuring out where things are, organizing our stuff.  Chris went in to his office today.

Caroline and I walked into town but I didn't have my camera.  It was a beautiful sunny day.

Day 7 (April 9): London

Recovery day today -- nothing on the agenda but resting, doing laundry, catching up online, etc.

the Demon Barber of Fleet Street

In the evening I met up with Zachary to go to Sweeney Todd.  Incredible and strange show!
